Beyond the Ballpark: Spring Training’s Impact

While the regular Major League Baseball season is now underway, I have been reflecting on the spring training season we just enjoyed here in Phoenix and the many ways it brought people together. For so many families across the Valley, spring training is a tradition filled with sunshine, connection, and shared joy. It is a time when friends gather, communities celebrate, and the energy of the season can be felt far beyond the ballpark.

This year, Ryan House was grateful to experience that spirit of generosity in meaningful ways. Through the support of community partners connected to Arizona’s spring training season, including the Tempe Diablos, whose charitable support is tied to the Los Angeles Angels in Tempe, and the Scottsdale Charros, longtime partners of the San Francisco Giants in Scottsdale, our mission was able to reach new audiences across the community. We were also grateful to receive grant support from the Scottsdale Charros, along with a gifted ad in the Giants 2026 Spring Training Program, helping share our mission with even more people across the Valley.

As one of the charities supported by the Tempe Diablos through a grant, we were invited to take part in their on-field presentation during Diablos Day. Pictured here, Zhi’Mire and his family joined us for the special moment, making it even more meaningful, especially because it was their very first baseball game.

We were also honored to be part of the experience at a Milwaukee Brewers spring training game through a table presence, a 50/50 raffle, and a public address announcement, each helping shine a light on the care and support we provide for children and families.

Moments like these are a beautiful reminder that support for Ryan House takes many forms. Sometimes it is a gift. Sometimes it is an introduction, an invitation, or an opportunity to share our story with others. Every act of generosity helps expand awareness, deepen connection, and make it possible for more families to find the comfort and care they need.

That is what I love so much about this community. People open doors. They make space. They look for ways to help. And when they do, they remind our families that they are surrounded by compassion.

Spring training may be over for the year, but the kindness it inspired continues to make a difference at Ryan House. Thank you for being part of this caring community and for all the ways you help create comfort, connection, and love for the families we serve.

With gratitude,
