Be Mine Bash Brings Joy and Connection to Our Families

Be Mine Bash Brings Joy and Connection to Our Families - family support pediatric palliative care event

Last month, our Teen Board hosted the Be Mine Bash, turning a Valentine-themed afternoon into a wonderful day of joy for the families we serve. Thanks to Park Central for generously donating their courtyard, nearly 85 kids and parents gathered for music, movement, and connection. From the first step through the colorful balloon arch, the space felt like a celebration. Families hit the dance floor, paused for photos at the backdrop, and lit up when Comicare superheroes arrived to mingle and pose with the kids. Between songs, there was something for everyone from a sensory corner, to face painting, a temporary tattoo station, Valentine’s “bowling,” and giant Connect 4, plus refreshments to keep the fun going. One of our volunteers, Shawn, and his therapy dog, Justice, made the rounds, bringing calm, comfort, and plenty of smiles. The afternoon wrapped with two toy-filled gift basket raffles, sending families home with a little extra sparkle. Most of all, the Be Mine Bash gave parents a chance to connect, siblings a place to belong, and our community another memory to hold onto.
