Volunteer

Volunteers are an integral part of the Ryan House team.

Care Team Volunteers

Care Team Volunteers

Care Team Volunteers assist clinical staff to meet the needs of the children and families staying at Ryan House. While the Care Team is responsible for all direct care of the children, in-house volunteers also play a vital role in supporting the needs of the Ryan House. Volunteers are involved in activities directly with the children such as reading, arts and crafts, games, playing music, and more.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, be accepted through an interview process, attend an orientation, and commit to a two to four-hour shift every week (students are asked to do a two-hour shift every week). If you are interested in becoming a Care Team Volunteer, please submit an application online through Hospice of the Valley, our Care Partner, and check Ryan House on the application form.

Community and Corporate Volunteers

Community and Corporate Volunteers

We gladly welcome individuals or groups who are looking for short term volunteer opportunities to get involved in Ryan House. These community volunteers perform a wide variety of tasks from assisting at events to performing short-term or one-time, group or individual projects. No training is required. If you or your group is interested in volunteering at one of the many special events that Ryan House hosts, or hosting a volunteer day at your workplace, or doing a project at the House, please contact us with the date you’re interested in and the number of individuals in your group. We will work with you directly to find a meaningful project for your group.

Speakers Bureau Volunteers

Speakers Bureau Volunteers

Ryan House Speakers Bureau Volunteers go out into the Community and share information about the work that Ryan House does to encourage others to get involved with our mission. You will represent Ryan House at festivals, events and community meetings. Speakers Bureau volunteers do everything from handing out literature at events, to presenting in front of a group of adults or kids. To become a Speakers Bureau volunteer, please complete an application online through Hospice of the Valley, our care partner. Please indicate “Ryan House Speakers Bureau” on the application. Accepted applicants must be 18 years of age and will be required to complete a 12-hour volunteer training and orientation.

Administrative Volunteers

Administrative Volunteers

Volunteers can help Ryan House by taking a regular shift and work with our team in all administrative functions. This can be everything from filing, data entry, online research, helping with mailings to helping with special events. If you have an administrative skill or a desire to help, we can use you! Those interested in a regular administrative shift should complete an application online through Hospice of the Valley, our care partner. Please indicate “Ryan House Administration” on the application. Accepted applicants will be required to complete a volunteer orientation.
