Staff Spotlight: Mitch Cohen, Child Life Specialist

What do superpowers, summer camp, and little league baseball have in common with Ryan House?

Read on to learn about that and more in this month’s Staff Spotlight featuring Mitch Cohen, our wonderful Child Life Specialist!

What is one unique thing people don’t know about you – like a hobby, a former profession, a place you’ve visited?

A couple of things people don’t know about me is that I used to be a summer camp director. I also coach little league baseball for kids when I have time to fit that in.

If you had a superpower, what would it be?

If I had a superpower, I would choose the ability to time travel to see what life was like in the past and what it would be like in the future.

What did you want to be when you were younger?

When I was younger, I wanted to be a professional baseball player during the baseball season and a pediatrician during the offseason. ????

What is your favorite kind of music and/or band?

I pretty much like all music; however, I have been listening to Imagine Dragons a lot lately.

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would you choose?

If I could have dinner with anyone, I would choose Jackie Robinson. I feel as though being the first African American professional baseball player is something that played a huge impact in all professional sports today as well as our culture overall.

What is one thing you cannot live without?

One thing I cannot live without is my family and/or my peloton.

What do you consider your motto in life?

“You Can’t Start a New Chapter if You Re-Read the Last One”

Is there anything else you’d like to share with the Ryan House community?

I mentioned my family, as the thing I cannot live without. They are my backbone, so without them, I am nothing. I have a wife and three beautiful children.
