Get to know her a bit better by reading about her in this month’s Staff Spotlight!
What is one unique thing people don’t know about you – like a hobby, a former profession, a place you’ve visited?
I enjoy traveling with my family. We try to go somewhere new each year. I enjoy hiking when the weather is nice, reading, and spending time spoiling my dogs.
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
I would want my superpower to be healing. Since I don’t have that power, I enjoy working as a nurse to provide care and make a difference where I can.
What did you want to be when you were younger?
I have always wanted to be a nurse. I even participated in a program similar to Teen in Nursing while in high school.
What is your favorite kind of music and/or band?
I enjoy most genres of music, including country, rock, oldies, pop, dance, and even Irish pub music. My family finds funny shanties, telling everyday stories in entertaining lyrics. I like upbeat music to bring people together and laugh.
If you could have dinner with anyone, who would you choose?
I would enjoy dinner with Queen Elizabeth II. I think she is an interesting person who has almost spanned the last hundred 100 years. I think she would have a unique perspective on the past and could provide good recommendations for the future.
What is one thing you cannot live without?
I have to list more than one: my family, friends, and chips and guacamole. When we come together with family and friends it makes the chips and guacamole taste better.
What do you consider your motto in life?
La vie est belle – Life is beautiful. I think it is important to have a positive outlook and celebrate all of life’s moments. You never know what tomorrow may bring.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with the Ryan House community?
I feel honored to be a part of the Ryan House family. I work alongside the best team. We have such a unique opportunity to come together to make a positive impact on our campers and their families.
