Run for Ryan House at DC Ranch Celebrates 10 Years

by Ryan House

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Jan. 3, 2014) – Registration is now open for the 2014 Run for Ryan House at DC Ranch on Saturday, March 1, 2014. If you’ve resolved to get more active in the New Year, signing up for the Run is a great way to keep on track and start training for success. And the Run is celebrating 10 years of helping children in the Valley through Ryan House. The Run offers a Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, 1-Mile Family Fun Run and Team Fundraising all to support children with life-threatening conditions.

Over the years, sponsorships and fundraising from the Run have helped raise tens of thousands of dollars to keep the facility operating and providing respite, palliative and end-of-life care to Arizona children with life-threatening conditions.

“This is going to be a big fundraiser for us,” said Ryan House Executive Director Julie Bank. “We have an annual budget of $2.4 million to continue to provide the much-needed services we offer and this event is one of the many ways we are going to raise that.”

Ryan House would like to thank the runners and supporters by inviting them to an open house on Thursday, Jan. 16, from 4 to 6 p.m. Ryan House is located at 110 W. Merrell St., in downtown Phoenix.

“This is a chance for supporters of the Run to see first-hand what they are running for, and where their generous fundraising efforts go,” said Bank. “You’ll also be able to register for the Run and sign up for your fundraising pages.”

For those who aren’t running in the race, there is a runner’s expo and a family expo to come out and enjoy.  Held on Market Street, spectators can expect family fun activities, entertainment, and more.

“The DC Ranch Community Council produces the race while Ryan House administers fundraising efforts,” said Christine Irish, DC Ranch Community Council executive director. “Participants will be happy to know that 100 percent of the sponsorships and fundraising dollars go directly to support Ryan House.”

Register for the Run and start training to make a difference on March 1. Registration and team fundraising is available online at RunforRyanHouse.org. Volunteers are also needed to help make this year’s event a success. If you or your organization would like to help out, please contact Ryan House at 602.200.0767 or email Info@RyanHouse.org.
