The Run for Ryan House Was a Huge Success!

Nearly 900 runners, walkers, wheelchairs, strollers and dogs attended and assisted in raising more than $58,000 at the 15th annual Run for Ryan House on November 17, which featured a 10K, 5K and 1 Mile Family Fun Run at Kiwanis Park in Tempe.

Funds raised from this event will assist in Ryan House’s mission to continue to provide world-class care and programs for the medically fragile children and families we serve as they navigate life-limiting or end-of-life journeys.
The morning’s activities were chock full of fun and celebration as the event’s media sponsor, Entercom Radio and Helping Hands, featured Valley radio station talent and lively music from 101.5, KMLE Country 108 and KOOL FM. The event also featured an expo area with a wide variety of Valley businesses sharing their info and product with event attendees.

There was live entertainment this year performed by The Sugar Skulls, comprised of 22 students ages 12-18, representing students from all three School of Rock music school locations in Arizona. These amazing musicians have opened for Joan Jett, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Warrant, Grand Funk Railroad and more! Plus, several sports team mascots were on hand having fun with the crowd including Arizona Cardinals’ Big Red, Arizona Coyotes Howler plus a few of their dance team members, AZ Diamondbacks D. Baxter, and Fiesta Bowl’s Spirit.

Our Title Sponsor this year was Willmeng Construction. Other sponsors included Plexus, Southwest Carpenters, Erickson Companies, Arizona Central Credit Union, Desert Diamond Casino, Western Alliance Bank, The Paisley Mae Foundation, Sprouts, Team Select, MGA Home Healthcare, Neurology Associates and Arizona Parenting Magazine. Special thanks to StartLine Racing for their generosity and help for this year’s event.

“Because of the amazing support we received from our event sponsors and our incredible community, we are thrilled to announce that our 15th annual Run for Ryan House was an incredible success,” said Ryan House Executive Director Tracy Leonard-Warner. “Thanks to their efforts, we were able to raise funds to continue to provide world-class care and programs for the medically fragile children and families we serve.”
