Staff Spotlight: Kelly Randall & Maria Beltran, Co-Clinical Nurse Liaisons

Our Co-Clinical Nurse Liaisons, Kelly Randall and Maria Beltran (pictured left to right), play an integral role at Ryan House. They work directly with our families to create individualized plans of care for each child to ensure that their unique needs are accurately communicated with our clinical team. They also prepare our families for respite stays, onboard new referrals, and assist in developing our ever-expanding respite programs.

Find out more about them in this month’s Staff Spotlight.

What is one unique thing people don’t know about you – like a hobby, a former profession, a place you’ve visited?

Kelly: I love to sing. I participated in high school musicals and collegiate a cappella, and still sing regularly at my church.

Maria: Pre-pandemic one of my favorite ways to unwind was salsa dancing! I look forward to the day it feels safe to go back.

If you had a superpower, what would it be?

Kelly: The power to stop time.

Maria: Teleportation would be really fun! Imagine being wherever you want to be in seconds, you could see the world in such a short amount of time.

What did you want to be when you were younger?

Kelly: A doctor.

Maria: I always wanted to be a nurse. My brother spent a lot of time in the hospital and I got to spend time with the nurses while he was there.

What is your favorite kind of music and/or band?

Kelly: Oldies, classic country, and K-LOVE.

Maria: I’m very eclectic in my taste of music both English and Spanish. I love anything I can sing or dance to. Music I could listen to on repeat and never get tired of would be Mana and Adele, but I can go from Reggaeton to Beyonce real quick!

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would you choose?

Kelly: My maternal grandmother who I’ve heard so much about but never met.

Maria: My future self.

What is one thing you cannot live without?

Kelly: My family, and protein!

Maria: Human connection.

What do you consider your motto in life?

Kelly: If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.

Maria: C’est la vie. Life is messy but it gets a lot easier when you realize you can’t control everything. It’s all about perspective and how we react to the things that happen to us.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with the Ryan House community?

Kelly: I feel privileged to be a part of the Ryan House community. I love working with our families and staff to prepare for safe, special respite stays.

Maria: Just that I feel very fortunate to be a part of the team here!
