Ryan House Increases Capacity to Serve More Children with Life-Limiting Conditions Thanks to $100,000 Thunderbirds Charities Grant

Items previously stored in the house will now move to this new climate-controlled storage facility.

PHOENIX (Oct. 4, 2018) – Ryan House announced today that thanks to a generous $100,000 grant from Thunderbirds Charities, its Service Capacity Expansion Project is now underway featuring a new climate-controlled storage facility that will enable the house to increase its capacity to serve more children with life-limiting conditions because items previously stored in the house will now move to this new facility.

“We are so grateful for the generosity of Thunderbirds Charities and the vision of Candelaria Designs,” said Ryan House Executive Director Tracy Leonard-Warner. “Thanks to their efforts, we will soon be able to store specialty beds and other medical equipment that so many of our kids require in our new climate-controlled storage facility opening up rooms so that we can serve more kids and provide services in the room where the beds are currently being stored.”

The new storage facility will be located just off of the playground area at the house. Construction is set to begin later this month with completion slated for the end of the year. Once complete, the exterior design will feature an adorable ice cream truck specially designed for Ryan House by Candelaria Designs.

“We feel honored to be able to contribute to Ryan House towards the Service Capacity Expansion Project to build a climate-controlled storage facility to allow for more available rooms,” said Carlos Sugich, President of Thunderbirds Charities. “Knowing that more kids will be able to stay at Ryan House and be cared for with such compassion and understanding will truly make a difference in their quality of life.”
