Group Seeks New Members and Invites Public to a Grandparents Guild Social to Support Ryan House
Jan. 21, 2014- (Phoenix)- Grandparents from all over the Valley will be at Ryan House on Jan. 30, 2014, to show their support of child with life-threatening conditions. The Ryan House Grandparents Guild is a committed and energetic group of Grandmas and Grandpas who wish to support the mission of Ryan House. The Guild meets yearly and is currently welcoming new members to join the group. Annual membership are $100 per individual or $175 per couple which offers financial support to provide respite, palliative and end-of-life care to Arizona children facing life-threatening conditions.

Ryan House is located on the campus of St. Joseph’s Hospital, on the northwest corner of Merrell and 1st Avenue. Parking is available in the Ryan House parking lot just West of the House.
WHO:
Ryan House and Grandparents. This event is open to the public. Any grandparent in the community is welcomed to join this primarily social group and help support the mission of Ryan House. Ryan House’s Executive Director and Grandparents Guild members will be available for interviews.

WHY:
Ryan House, a nonprofit organization in Central Phoenix, provides respite, palliative and end-of-life care to Arizona children with life-threatening conditions. From diagnosis through end-of-life and beyond, Ryan House provides a comprehensive program of family-centered care including medical, emotional, social and spiritual support services and therapies to enhance quality of life. Ryan House is supported 100% by charitable contributions with no insurance reimbursement. Families are never charged a fee to use the services available at Ryan House.

The mission of Ryan House is to provide respite and palliative care to children with life-threatening conditions and, as needed, end-of-life care. All services at Ryan House are guided by the principles of palliative care. This philosophy of comfort care addresses not only physical pain but also the emotional, spiritual and social needs of the child and family.
