Run for Ryan House FAQs

Where do I park on race day?
Parking will be available on Market Street in DC Ranch and at the Desert Camp Community Center in DC Ranch.  Please visit http://beonmarketstreet.com/directory/ for a map of Market Street.

How do I register for the Run?                                      
Participants can register online at www.active.com, at the Run for Ryan House at DC Ranch Expo to be held March 2, 2012 at Sole Sports Scottsdale or starting at 6 a.m. on race day. Participants can also mail in the registration form by clicking here to download the PDF form.

When is the last day to register for the Run?
Online registration ends on Wednesday, Feb. 29 at 11:59 p.m. PST. If you don’t register online you can register for all of our races at the Expo event. The pre-race expo will be held on March 2 at Sole Sports Scottsdale from 12 – 6 p.m.  Day of registration is also available starting at 6 a.m. on Saturday, March 3.

Where do I pickup my Packet?
Packet pickup will be at the Expo on March 2 from 12 – 7 p.m. at Sole Sports Scottsdale or Saturday, March 3 at Market Street at DC Ranch starting at 6 a.m.

Can you mail my packet to me?
No. All packets must be picked up at the Expo events

Can I change races?
Yes, you can change races at Packet Pick-up. You will have to pay the additional registration fee to upgrade your race, if you downgrade your race registration you will not receive a refund of the difference.

I am injured. Can I get a refund?
We are sorry but we do not give refunds. Participants unable to participate may contact Race Organizers at tempe.ligett@dcranchinc.com or 480.538.3540 to apply their registration to the 2012 event.

What is the age limit for the races?
There is no age limit for any of the events.  There is a time limit of 4 hours to complete the Half Marathon as a supported race participant.

Can I wear my Chip on my number? 
No! You must wear your chip on your shoe in order to be timed by the Chronotrack Timing system.  Refer to your race packet for chip instructions.  Wearing your chip anywhere but on your shoe or on an ankle strap can lead to missed reads at the timing mats. 

What happens if I leave my chip in my hotel room on race day?
In the unlikely event you forget to bring your chip on race day, and do not have time before the start to retrieve your chip, please visit the information tent by the start line and see a race official.

Can we keep our timing chip?
Yes, the event will be timed using the state-of-the-art Chronotrack timing system which features a disposable chip that will accurately record each individual’s time from start line to finish line.

What is the course time limit?
The course and electronic timing system will remain open for 4 hours starting at 7am. 
Everyone finishing in 4 hours will receive an official finisher’s shirt. We do not guarantee that the hydration stations or medical aid stations will be open longer than the ~18 minute per mile pace.

Will Energy Gel be provided on the course?
Yes, Energy Gel will be provided at miles 5 and 8 of the half marathon.

Will there be a gear drop?
Yes.  Each participant in the 5K, 10K and/or Half Marathon can be use the numbered tab on their bib for the gear drop which will be available in the race day registration area.  Any gear left is at your own risk. 

Will there be race photos?
Yes, photos will be taken by Zazoosh and available at http://www.zazoosh.com/events/554 after the event.

Will there be an early start for walkers?
No

Are strollers allowed in the races?
Yes

Are pets allowed in the races?
No
